SALLY APFELBAUM is a mixed media artist based in New York City. She sees painting broadly as landscape and autobiography, drawing from past influences and present circumstances as part of the vibrant community that is the East Village in NYC. She's a strong believer in public art and has participated as a Design Team Member for a commuter rail line in St. Louis, and received commissions from the General Services Administration and Metropolitan Transit Authority, NYC. She's been fortunate to work in France after receiving several French Cultural Services grants, and the Giverny Award. She believes in interdisciplinary exchange and is honored to be included in Tethered Literary's Summer Edition.
