FREDERICK JAMES BERGER JR grew up fascinated by the varied sounds, smells and textures of the swamps and coastline of Louisiana and the Gulf Coast.  This fascination has guided his growth as a painter, in his experimentation with color, and textures of the mediums he chooses to paint on, continuously seeking the endless layers in which we see an animal or object for the first time, again and again.
