MOHAMMADMAHDI HEIDARI is an astrophotographer from Iran whose work has been published online by NASA, ESO, and the International Dark-Sky Association. He has been photographing since 2012 and earned a bachelor’s degree in photography in 2022. Currently, he is an MFA candidate in photography at Louisiana Tech University’s School of Design. The panorama photograph “Nearby Earth Inhabitant” is his wish to share the beauty of the stars that many people overlook in their daily routines. He focused on a rare, long-period comet to encourage people to look up more often and find the wonder in the cosmos. Humans’ connection to the universe is special. He wants to remind everyone these moments of cosmic magic can bring people closer to each other and to planet earth.
